Michael Turon

Michael grew up sailing Lasers and Hobie Cats on Huntington Lake, California at the age of 10. In his early thirties he became an active OneDesign racer (J24, Colgate 24, Melges 24, & J/105). Over the last three years, he has also become an offshore and distance racer and competed in the 2016 Newport-Bermuda Race on Oakcliff’s Farr 40. Recently, he has been racing dinghies more frequently with the goal of improving his starts and tactics on the race course.

Michael is a US Basic Keelboat Instructor and teaches adults how to sail in NYC. When not sailing, he is an avid cook and foodie who has been known to brew beer and travel all over the five boroughs in search of tasty bowls of ramen. A true testament of his love of salt water…
