Match Racing Acorns in Partnership with the World Match Racing Tour

The World Match Racing Tour is coming to Oakcliff! The Match Race Acorn program is a two week World Match Racing Tour Endorsed session that is sure to teach match racers of every level something new. While there are many opportunities to match race each summer at Oakcliff, this is your opportunity for a program focused on head to head competition, including a Grade 4 and Grade 3. The Academy is also directly before the Gov Cup and Chicago Grand Slam – so international teams can train at Oakcliff then roll directly into the Grand Slam Series. You will rotate through all positions on the boat, train as an umpire, and be coached by the best in the world.

As Match Racing Acorns, trainees will learn:

  • Match Racing starts & maneuvers
  • All the positions on a Match 40
  • A deep dive into the Racing Rules of Sailing
  • High level match racing tactics
