Joseph Bello

2014 Offshore & High Performance Acorn

Joseph Bello, born and raised in Fort Walton Beach, FL, has always strived to be the best at sailing. He first experienced sailing on his parent’s Hobie 16 and 22’ sailboat. Joseph went on to compete in the 420 class and won several events including the Junior Olympics. Soon after, Randy Smyth introduced him to high performance catamarans and brought him under his wing. After placing 2nd at Youth Champs, Joseph was awarded the Jacques and Anne Rogge Olympic Pathways Scholarship. Through the scholarship, Joseph will attend the High Performance and Offshore programs. He hopes that his experience with Oakcliff will help him obtain future success in college sailing at USF and an Olympic campaign.
