October 21, 2018 (OYSTER BAY, NY) - The third and final stage of the 2018 Oakcliff Triple Crown Series saw some of the most competitive racing yet. With heavy, shifty breeze and competitive fleets, no class was dominated by a single team except for the 470 Men’s in which Olympians Stu McNay/Dave Hughes took a commanding victory. The racing came to a close with below freezing temperatures and near 40 knot gusts, which didn’t stop the 470 sailors from going out but it wasn’t long before they turned back. Oakcliff Partners with Rick Warner’s ORMA 60 Areté
Oakcliff is pleased to announce a partnership with Rick Warner’s ORMA 60 Areté. This partnership is a part of the Oakcliff Development Program. It is similar to partnerships with Vestas 11th Hour Racing’s Volvo Campaign and the NYYC’s American Magic America’s Cup Campaign. Areté is preparing for a record run on the race track from Chicago to Mackinac. They are working with their weather router to identify the ideal conditions for the record, and officials from the World Sailing Speed Record Council (WSSRC) are ready to certify the start and finish. Bringing America Closer To Olympic Gold
Nearly $100K Awarded At Stage 1 of Triple Crown OYSTER BAY, NEW YORK (August 26, 2018) – Stage 1 of the Oakcliff Triple Crown Series brought together 44 of the top North American sailors in the 49er, FX, and Nacra 17. Four of the competitors were US Olympians: Trevor Burd, Chris Rast, Paris Henken, and Anna Tunnicliffe, who has a gold medal in the laser radial. Nearly one hundred thousand dollars of prize grants were awarded to competitors based on performance in this regatta.
