Double Handed Melges 24 Distance Race

Today is Race Day #2  Our short-handed offshore test event is well under way.  Racers have gotten through a slow and rainy first day and are greeted today by sun and better wind on day #2 of this 30 hour race around Long Island Sound.  Before departing they did interviews with News 12 and NBC along with Dawn Riley.

The start was at 4:00 pm yesterday, and we have been covering with live drone coverage as well as intermittent onboard live feeds throughout the duration of the race.  Oakcliff support staff have been following the race and providing regular updates on Facebook and Instagram.  Race committee Patrick Burks will alter the course based on the conditions with an estimated finish between 5:00 and 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday night.

Note that the live feeds for each boat linked below will be active as much as possible during the race.  However, they may also be down for periods of time due to available network coverage and bandwidth conditions on the Sound.  Please check back often and refresh your page.  We will also be sending the best available video at any given time to our Facebook page.

Watch the tracking of the race boats on the map at the bottom of this page.
