25 Jul Youth Match Race Clinegatta
Dave Perry is once again on fire. We have 7 teams of youth who spent 6 hours on the water and are now into their second hour of debrief with video. This is an incredible effort and learning experience. My favorite quote so far: “I was having issues in my mind” – Albert.
Teams have come from as far as New Orleans and Annapolis and are benefiting from Dave’s expertise as well as the service of volunteer umpires and race committee who also braved the 90 degree heat.
Also on the water today were may Oakcliff Supporters and team members competing at the Long Island YRA match racing championship and David Storrs came out victorious. In second was one of the original Oakcliff team members Leo Vassilve and at young team from the USMMA came in third.
Next week the Grade 3 International Oakcliff Invitational will finish off the month with world class teams on the water in our Swedish Match 40s.
Connecting the dots at Oakcliff from young to not so young we have momentum!
