Corey Lawrence

Trustee Emeritus – Corey Lawrence has been sailing since before she could walk. In her teens she raced Thistles and Sunfish, and was a head sailing instructor on the Great South Bay , NY where she taught on CC Mercuries, 420’s, and Sunfish. A graduate of Hamilton College , Corey is currently an investor, a sailor and is continuing her education, working toward a MA in Educational Psychology at NYU Steinhardt. Since 2000, Corey has been competitively racing larger boats on Long Island Sound and the East Coast. These include Soverel 33’s, Shields, Far 40’s, J/120s, Swedish Match 40’s and Interclub Dinghies. Her favorite crew positions are pit, main, mast and helm. She was a member of the 2007 IRC National championship crew on the Ker 11.3. Corey is committed to building a dynamic environment for exposing individuals to a wide range of race boat training and promoting the development of sailing industry professionals. She considers sailing to be an important activity that promotes teamwork, lasting friendships and a love for our coasts and maritime traditions.
